Need Help? SIGCHI CARES
SIGCHI CARES is a support resource for anyone in the SIGCHI community, including UIST attendees, who has experienced or witnessed behavior that violates ACM policies. You can reach out about:
- Discrimination and harassment, as described in the ACM Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment
- Plagiarism, misrepresentation, and falsification
- Coercion and abuse in the publication process
- Concerns about peer review
CARES members are established members of the SIGCHI community. They will listen, talk through your options with you, and help you navigate the formal reporting procedures if you choose to use them. You do not need to decide whether to file a report before reaching out.
Please note that in certain cases of imminent danger, including threats of violence, suicide, or harm to children, CARES members are required to report to the appropriate authorities.
The SIGCHI CARES representatives for UIST 2026 are Celine Latulipe and Rina Wehbe. To reach them or the CARES co-chairs, email sigchi-cares@acm.org.
If you are in immediate danger during the conference, call 911.
