What is UIST?

The ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology (UIST) is the leading forum for research in human-computer interaction (HCI) focusing on pioneering interactive technologies. UIST advances cutting-edge research in areas such as human-AI interaction, sensing technology, haptics, the metaverse, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), and computer-supported cooperative work.

The conference attracts 500–750 attendees, including industry leaders, academic faculty, and emerging researchers at all career stages (Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s).

UIST 2026 will take place from November 2–5, 2026, at the GM Renaissance Center in Detroit, MI.
