UIST 2013 will be hosted in the University of St Andrews from October 8th to October 11th and registration now open! The main program starts on Wednesday October 9th while our invitation-only Doctoral Symposium begins on October 8th. For everyone attending UIST we would like to invite you to a welcome reception in Lower College Hall on the evening of October 8th. This page provides details on the different venues we have for UIST and to help orient you once you are here. From Wednesday the 9th to Friday the 11th of October the papers program will be held in Younger Hall of the University of St Andrews. The postcode for Younger Hall in St Andrews is: KY16 9AJ, UK (bing).
Younger Hall is the venue for all graduations, and has been since the late Queen Mother opened it when she was Duchess of York in 1929. Is also the base of the University's Music Centre who are kindly letting us host UIST here in 2013. This building houses the main concert venue in St Andrews, boasting a hall that seats up to 1,000 people. It regularly hosts performances by professional and amateur musicians, including visits by leading orchestras such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

On the evening of Tuesday the 8th of October and at morning tea, afternoon tea and lunchtime on October 9th to 11th we will be having a welcome reception, posters sessions in the Lower and Upper College Hall of the University of St Andrews in St Salvator's quad. This is a small walk from Younger Hall which the student volunteers will guide you on. The postcode for the Lower and Upper College area is KY16 9AL, UK (bing) which is inside the St Salvator's quadrangle.

On Wednesday the 9th of October we will hold the demo session and demo reception. If you are just attending the reception we have plans (weather dependant) on how we will move between Younger Hall and the Old Course Hotel. If you are setting up a demo here you will have been contacted with detailed instructions on timing and access. If you are making your own way to the demo session and reception, here are directions.
On Thursday the 10th of October we will be holding the student innovation contest and the banquet in the Kinkell Byre. Bus transfer to the student innovation contest and conference banquet venue will be at 6pm from Younger Hall. Given the remoteness of the venue we wouldn't encourage participants to try to make their own way there. The address is Kinkell, St Andrews, Fife, KY16 8PN (bing).
