You must arrange accommodations directly with the Conference hotel . Reservations should be made by Friday, Oct. 8 to ensure that you receive the conference room rates. You need to specify that you are a ACM User Interface Software and Technology attendee (group number 203584), to get the UIST rate. Therefore, you should not use the Web site to make reservations - if you do, you won't get the UIST rate.

Conference rates are extended to attendees from Saturday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 11. If you ask you may be able to get the conference rate for additional days.


 

Transportation

 
The Grove Park Inn Resort is 5 minutes from downtown Asheville and 20 minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). Limousine service, as well as taxis, are available to meet all flights. All major car rental companies are located at the airport.

There are three airports you may want to consider flying into:

  1. Asheville: This airport is served by a number of major carriers including US Airways and Delta
  2. Charlotte, NC: This airport is a hub for US Airways and is served by a number of other major carriers as well.  The Charlotte airport is a 2-3 hour drive from the Grove Park Inn, depending on traffic conditions.
  3. Greenville/Spartanburg, SC: This airport is served by a number of major carriers including US Airways, Delta, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, and American Airlines. The Greenville/Spartanburg airport is a 1.5-2 hour drive from the Grove Park Inn, depending on traffic conditions.
Driving instructions from the Asheville airport: Take I-26 west to I-240 East to Asheville. Go approximately four miles and take the Charlotte Street exit, exit #5b. Turn left onto Charlotte, go 1/2 mile and turn right onto Macon Avenue. The Grove Park Inn will be 1 mile on the left.

Driving instructions from the Charlotte airport: Take I-40 west to I-240 West to Asheville (Exit 53-b). Take the Charlotte Street exit, exit #5b. Turn right onto Charotte, go 1/2 mile and turn right onto Macon Avenue. The Grove Park Inn will be 1 mile on the left.

Driving instructions from the Greenville/Spartanburg airport: Take I-85 North to I-26 West. Take I-26 west to I-240 East to Asheville. Go approximately four miles and take the Charlotte Street exit, exit #5b. Turn left onto Charlotte, go 1/2 mile and turn right onto Macon Avenue. The Grove Park Inn will be 1 mile on the left.
